Rust Experiments.....

Today i tested a Method to create rusty surfaces by using Acrylics and Pigments.
I used Vallejo Model Air "Rust" (71080) and some of the nice Vallejo Pigments. (here: Natural Umber and Yellow ochre).
The Result was a nice uneven Rusty Surface. I finally only had to apply some Vallejo Game Color "Orange Fire" (72008) to get bright oxydeous Highlights.

To get an contrast i choosed to paint the non Rusted Parts with Vallejo Game Colour "Tinny Tin" (72060) followed by an washing with Citadel´s "Devlan Mud".... now i have to apply an turquoise- green Patina to all the Tincoloured Parts....
Then this Model will look like his name is: "Helljack" ( not the archetype and boring Black-Green Pattern which is mostly used to paint Cryx)

More W.I.P. for "Guided Lands"

Hello All!

Today i´ve assembled one of my ongoing Heroes for Guided Lands. It´s the Standard Bearer from the Mounted General Box from Warhammer, but i decided to give him a Blunt instead of the Flag.
The next Choice was to give him a Duelpistol,(Love Steampunk! Yaiih! ) and a Pose like he would challenge someone on the Battlefield.

Isn´t he"heroic"? ;-)

By the Way, today i´ve finished my first Works on my own Homepage. Still a lot of Work, but for my very first steps in "Creating a Homepage" it seems to be a good Result so far.

A little bit of W.I.P. for "Guided Lands"

Today i was a little bit lazy and so i did not worked on commissions. Instead i grabbed my mounted imperial General from Warhammer to give him some Colour.
It´s a beautifull, nice sculpted Miniature in a very dynamic Pose, just right to be the Leader of my Forces for "Guided Lands" (Remember: i am up to build an Army such like the Imperium of Warhammer)

I decided to use darker Colours instead of the mostly used bright ones. For the Instance i washed the Horsearmour with a Mix of different Inks to let it look more realistic and "used".
The Saddlecloth will remain Black and Grey. This will help to draw the Focus on the Rider.
There´s still a lot to paint on this little Beauty. Think i finished only 40% yet.

As you can see there is still a lot of Work to do now..... More Pictures of this and some other Minis for Guided Lands will shown up in the next few Days....

Hope you like it....

Horses and Mages.....

Hello everybody!

Started to paint the Horse-mounted Artillery  (see my last Post) No "great art" but good enough for gaming purposes i think.

still W.I.P.

Further, i started to give my Empire Battle Wizards from GW the first coats of Colour. I will use them in my "Guided Lands" Army. They are W.I.P. too but i think they will be finished today....

The first one...assigned to weak enemy Forces. Note that the Runes on his clothing still are "spacers", they will be replaced by the Runes which will be applyed later.

My Firemage. I think every real Fantasy based Army should have at least one "classic" Fire Mage! ^^ He will be assigned to be one of my best "Damagedealers"

More Org`kka and my latest Ebay goodie....

The new Year is 9 Days old and there was nothing new at this little Blog. I was very busy with the commission work for Magabotato. Now, these little violett dudes are nearly finished. Tomorrow i will complete the last finishing worksteps and then they will be send "home".

some of the Guys....still unfinished.....

When they are finally done, they´ll be ready for fotoshooting! ^^

My latest Ebay Goodie arrived yesterday! Some of you might still know the "good old days" of Mercenarys in Warhammer. So you will surely know a Unit called "Bronzinos Galloper Guns".
Very usefull horse-mounted Artillery (and imho the most beautyfull Gun GW ever released)

Original GW Picture

Now, there were 3 Auctions, including one Gun with Limber, Crew etc (only Bronzino himself is missing, but this dosn´t matter because the Guns will be used for "Guided Lands" not for Warhammer) and i won all 3!!!

the whole Lot

All in one, i had to pay just 25 Euro (including shipping) for the whole Lot. Soon they will take place on my workbench for my growing "Guided Lands" Army! ^^

That´s so far.....

A new Game, a new Project!

A Friend of mine told me about a new Tabletopsystem, released this Year on the "Spiel ´10" in Essen.
It´s named "Guided Lands" and it is a generic Skirmishsystem for Fantasy in 28+ mm.

Guided Lands includes all what you need to play: Complete and easy Rules for Skirmish with Fantasy Miniatures. There is no own Miniature Range because this System offers you the ability to play with any Miniature from your Collection at Home!
More than 20 Pages include the way to convert a Miniature to fit in the Guided Lands Rulesystem. The whole Rulebook includes 100 Pages.
The values of the converted Minis depend on various instances like the heigt of the Figure, the number of weapons, kind of weapons, Equipment, desired peculiarities etc...
With these system you are able to create single Characters or whole units of Miniatures as well.

To check out "Guided Lands" just visit: Guided Lands

I was impressed of this easy System so that i just started to build my own little Battleforce. Fortunately my friend had to offer some older Figures from the "Warmachine" Range, so i started immediately to paint them. Here is a first result:

The first of my 3 "Warwitches" planned for "Guided Lands" Originally this Mini is from the "Cryx" Range of Warmachine and comes with another 2 of them + an flying "Powerstone" (or something simillar). This Unit will bring the magic Power into my Battleforce! ^^
Sorry for the quite bad quality of the Picture. The next pictures will be better!
