Hi Folks and Fellows....
Today i want to share with you my first Squad of custom build Chaos Renegade Militias for my WH40K Chaos Project.
To build these Guys i used 2 different Kits from Games Workshop: one Box of WH Fantasy Empire Flaggelants and a Box of WH40K Imperial Guard Cadians.
Because sometimes less is more, I only added the Cadian Weapons and Arms to the Flaggelants to get these chaotic looking Guys.
I decided to use Green/Blue Clothings because i want to use Unit in my upcoming Alpha Legion Army. IMHO the Colours work well in addition to the tanned and bleached Skin i gave them. Finally i only had to add some Chaosicons (Parts of Chaosstars and easy "A´s" for Alpha Legion) to the Shoulderpads.
The Minis are based on Pieces of Cork which create really nice Rockformations. You have only to paint them in a Grey Basetone and after that apply some Pigments to let them look more realistic...
so here they are...

Time for Conversions!
Got an High Elf on Griffon these Days. (from The Blood Island Set). Now i decided to convert him into an Brettonian Lord on Hippogriff.
The "To do- List" so far:
1. Resculpt the Griffon (replacing Feathers arround his Neck and Chest by Fur)
2. Convert the Rider (by using an Pegasusknight and some Bits)
3. Remove the back Feet and add Hoofs
4. Remove the Tail and add an Horsetail
5. Filling all the nasty Gaps on the Model
here is a first Picture of the Start.

I resculpted the bill (it´s an Hippogriff and no canary! ^^) and added long eyebrows.
I´m not trained in sculpting but i will try to do my very best......

Warhammer Fantasy Bretonnians (Scandinavian Styled) - The Concept....
Hello to all of my Followers!
Today i want to share with you the Plans (or the Main Concept) of my ongoing new Army Project.
As i told before, my Bretonnians should look like medieval Scandinavians from the time of the baltic Crussades (arround 11th - 15th century). So they will consist of danish, swedish, norwayian and finnish Knights and Soldiers.
It will not be a "superhistorical" and correct historic looking Army because of two main Reasons:
1: One of the most important Units in the Bretonnian List are the Pegasusknights. I can´t and i will not renounce them.
2: I will "mix" different Timelines due putting together historical Colours and Heraldrys of several historical Persons who don´t lived at the same time.
Here´s the "conversion-list" of the Units i planned and what i want to look them like:

- Knights Errant - Danish Knights
- Questing Knights - Norwayian and finnish Knights
- Grail Knights - Swedish high nobility
- Knights of the Realm - Danish high nobility
- Men at Arms - mainly Danish Marksmen (maybe a second Unit will be raised - then as Swedish Men)
- Bowmen - "normal" Civillian looking medieval Bowman (Icons will be Danish i think)
- Maiden - Conversions of Clerics to represent Bishops (Like the Bishop of Tartu etc)
- Paladin - unassigned yet... maybe Birger Jarl or the Son of King Valdemar
- King Leoncour - King Valdemar himself
- Bretonnian Counts - real high nobility of Denmark and Sweden - unassigned yet)
- Pegasus Knights - well.... i still don´t have a clou...
That are the planned conversions so far. Later i will add 2 Trebouchets and some Pilgrims with an Grail Relic to the Army... but i think first there is a lot of work to do......
Let me know, what you think about the Project. Or maybe you have one or more ideas?

Warhammer Fantasy Bretonnians (Scandinavian Styled) - The Beginning...
A few Days ago i finished my commission for Valdemar Miniatures and so there is a little Time for own Projects.
I wanted to start a whole new Army for Warhammer and because actually i have lots of Stuff (Ospreybooks, Pictures, Weblinks etc) for medieval scandinavian Armys and because i like theyr look (and the beautiful Herdaldics), i decided to create a Bretonnian Army styled as scandinavians (mostly Danish) of the 12/13th century.
After a few testpaintings on single Minis i obtained, i had to wait for my Armybox. The Box arrived last Week and so i started....
First i began to paint the Men-at-Arms:

First i began to paint the Men-at-Arms:
They are "typical" painted as Danish Marksmen. Simple Red Clothing without any Heraldry on it. Only on the small shields and on the Pavises the Danish Warflag ( "Danebrog" ) was visible.
The companychampion is slightly converted by using Parts of the Knights Sprue. His Heraldry is different to the Rest of the Unit to let him look like the Knight of Thott (Noble Danish Family in 1283)
Note that the Flag isn´t finished.... i still don´t know if i should use this Flag or if i should replace her by a selfmade Flag..... will decide this later...
Hope you like the first Results....

New Army started and WikingPaintworks enters Facebook....
Just started my newest Armyproject for Warhammer. I want to create a Brettonian Army but styled as scandinavian Knights from the Time of the baltic Crussades. (maybe with some "splashes" of other Scandinavian Personalitys like Erik Erikson or even King Valdemar because i love theyr Heraldics!)
Started the first Knight..... Name unknown, the only thing i know that he is dated arround 1280
In addittion to this Blog i decided to create a Facebook Account to share my Projects, Works etc even there.
So feel free to join my FB Site....

Skaven Plagueclaw Catapult
At least finished......
It took me 3 Days to finish this little Warmachine. (Pre- assembly, Painting single Parts, Fit-check, Drying times etc...)
But..... it´s finished!
I decided to apply some Pigments because the look is even better! I like it to give my Wargamingunits a little bit of "Realism" by using Pigments.....

I decided to apply some Pigments because the look is even better! I like it to give my Wargamingunits a little bit of "Realism" by using Pigments.....
As you can see, the Pigments (Vallejo) work well on the Model. Even the wooden Parts are brushed with some beige/brown Pigments to smooth the Surface down a little bit.
Most impressive Results are possible for Rusty Effects or Soot....
Hope you like it.... (my Enemies will hate it! ^^)
Some W.I.P....
Beside my actual Comission works for several Manufacturers (until there´s no "Go" from them i´m not able to show here) there are many other "Sideprojects" i´m working at....
This Time my Skaven hordes will get new Reinforcements in Form of a Doom Flayer and an Plagueclaw Catapult. (Throwing 5" Templates into enemy´s lines is just funny as hell ^^ )

Think the Catapult will be finished by Sunday, except there will be delays in my Painting Plans for the comissions. As you can see, nerly the whole construct is painted. Only some Details and some metalparts are left to paint. (And of course: the Base)
As you can see, i decided to paint all the spikes on the Flayerwheel with different Greentones to let them look like Warpstone. For me, it would be too boring to paint the Wheel the "standard" Way....
As allways all is painted with Vallejo Acrylics

More W.I.P. for "Guided Lands"
Hello All!
Today i´ve assembled one of my ongoing Heroes for Guided Lands. It´s the Standard Bearer from the Mounted General Box from Warhammer, but i decided to give him a Blunt instead of the Flag.
The next Choice was to give him a Duelpistol,(Love Steampunk! Yaiih! ) and a Pose like he would challenge someone on the Battlefield.

Isn´t he"heroic"? ;-) |
By the Way, today i´ve finished my first Works on my own Homepage. Still a lot of Work, but for my very first steps in "Creating a Homepage" it seems to be a good Result so far.

A little bit of W.I.P. for "Guided Lands"
Today i was a little bit lazy and so i did not worked on commissions. Instead i grabbed my mounted imperial General from Warhammer to give him some Colour.
It´s a beautifull, nice sculpted Miniature in a very dynamic Pose, just right to be the Leader of my Forces for "Guided Lands" (Remember: i am up to build an Army such like the Imperium of Warhammer)

I decided to use darker Colours instead of the mostly used bright ones. For the Instance i washed the Horsearmour with a Mix of different Inks to let it look more realistic and "used".
The Saddlecloth will remain Black and Grey. This will help to draw the Focus on the Rider.
There´s still a lot to paint on this little Beauty. Think i finished only 40% yet.
As you can see there is still a lot of Work to do now..... More Pictures of this and some other Minis for Guided Lands will shown up in the next few Days....
Hope you like it....

Coming up: Battle Report Eldar Vs Dark Eldar
Tomorrow i will share with you the Battle Report of the Warhammer 40K match i´ve played tonight against Harael.
It was a small Match, only about 750 Points, and after 5 Turns it was over.
Now i have to prepare the Report and the Pictures, so you can enjoy the whole Results tomorrow!
Only one Picture as appetizer is all i offer today! ^^
It was funny and relaxing (as allways when Harael and me meet to clash) and the Result surprised me much! But more tomorrow......
so stay tuned......

After a very very long Time inside of a wooden Box, my skaven Doomwheel entered my Paintingtable. I almost forgot it but a few Days ago i cleaned up my "Working Area" and found the box. (and many other older projects *cough* But these things will be done another Time.
And now after a few Hours of painting it´s finished! At last, my entire Skaven Army will get Support by this Hellmachine!
