40K..."very British" ^^

Today´s the last of the celebrating Days of Christmas in Germany, so it´s time to "warm up" my Fingers for coming Paintjobs after the 3 Days of celebrating and lazyness.

For this instance, i decided to give one of my Warhammer 40K imperial Officers a "british" look. I truly love the colors of the british Uniforms of world war 2, so it was great fun to paint this little guy.

"God safe the Quee...öhm...Emperor!" ^^

As allways when i paint british uniforms, i used Vallejos "70921 English Uniform" for the Clothing, applied some washing with GW´s "Devlan Mud" and finally added Layers of English Uniform and a final Mix of it with Vallejos "72039 Plague Brown" to highlight the whole clothing. The Armourplates were painted with Vallejo "70924 Russian Uniform" and the Webbing was painted with "70988 Khaki"

Now i only have to apply some fictive Unit insignias on the shoulderpads. I think small Insignias in Red/Blue will work well.
Maybe i will start a whole 40K Imperial Army in "british" Style, but first there are too many other projects to finish. (and i don´t know an facturer who offers seperate Heads in 28mm with typical british Helmets.)

Thats all for today....

A little "Before - After" report....

Before:

blank Org´kka Hero

and now after 4 Hours and many many Paintingsteps with a lot of Vallejo Paints:

nearly finished....
This Mini took more than 4 Hours to paint. As ever, i used acrylics from the Game Colour Range from Vallejo (except some washes from GW).
While painting, this little Figure offerd more and more tiny little Parts to paint. A small horn here, a much smaller Detail there....
Now the rest of this commission will be assembled and painted faster. (This Guy is the biggest and heavyiest detailed Figure of the whole Lot) Only 13 Orks left......

back to Work! ^^....

First Tests with Oilpaints

Today i did my very first brushstrokes with Oils.
All the time i thought there would be something missing on my modells.... the final touch. Now i think, i have found the solution..... some final weatherings with Oils!

still unfinished - but looking more "true"

I used the following Oils: Lukas 8111 "Burnt Umber" and some stitches of Lukas 8109 "Burnt Sienna".

Note that these Churchill is not finished because he was only used for testing surposes. But it will be finished till tomorrow i think.... so lets go to work! ^^

First Comissions for Magabotato and some W.I.P

Hello Everyone!

Yesterday i´ve finished the first of a few Miniatures for Magabotato. A so called "Org´kka Hunta" from the Dwarf Tales Miniature range from Poland. The primitive and native look of these Orks is really nice. These Huntas look a little bit like Arctic Innuit and it´s great Fun to paint them in naturally colours. (exxept the violet skin of course! ^^)

Org´kka Hunta

Org´kka Hunta Back

Today i was a little bit lazy and so i just painted a little "Testpaintings" to check out Colourtechniques. I hope, my best friend will forgive me, because i tested new Techniques on his Dark Elf Surpreme Sorceress! ^^

Finally i tested some kinds of layers and glazes on a Orkboy..... I think, all of my Orks now have to repainted because of the good looking Results at the Skin! Damn! ^^

can you say: "smooooooth skin"? ^^

Dark Eldar Conversion

Hi all,

Today i present my custom build Dark Eldar Hellion Lord Sathonyx.
Because he´s listed in the actual Codex but there´s no Model availiable, i started to convert one of the Hellions out of the Box to this Charactermodel.

I´ve just added some Blades and Skulls at his Glider to let it look more unique and different from the others. The Grenade Launchers were put onto the Glider instead of assembling them under the Wings. Easy but the Glider looks more nasty now.

Sathonyx himself was build from Kabalewarrior parts and a Cloak from my Bitsbox. I choosed the heavy upper Armour because once he WAS a Kabale Warrior till the Day he was exiled. And i think he is proud enough (or still ? ^^) to wear his old Armour. In addition the Armour let him look more like a personality.
Only the arms and legs were taken from the original Kit.

There are only a few Paintings to do till he is finished, but i think in a few hours he will be ready to bring Terror onto the Gamingtable!! Like allways, the Miniature was painted with Vallejo Acrylics and some GW washes.

Hope you like him!

EDIT: Yahoooooo! cracked the "magic" Number of 1000 Hits! ^^

A new Game, a new Project!

A Friend of mine told me about a new Tabletopsystem, released this Year on the "Spiel ´10" in Essen.
It´s named "Guided Lands" and it is a generic Skirmishsystem for Fantasy in 28+ mm.

Guided Lands includes all what you need to play: Complete and easy Rules for Skirmish with Fantasy Miniatures. There is no own Miniature Range because this System offers you the ability to play with any Miniature from your Collection at Home!
More than 20 Pages include the way to convert a Miniature to fit in the Guided Lands Rulesystem. The whole Rulebook includes 100 Pages.
The values of the converted Minis depend on various instances like the heigt of the Figure, the number of weapons, kind of weapons, Equipment, desired peculiarities etc...
With these system you are able to create single Characters or whole units of Miniatures as well.

To check out "Guided Lands" just visit: Guided Lands

I was impressed of this easy System so that i just started to build my own little Battleforce. Fortunately my friend had to offer some older Figures from the "Warmachine" Range, so i started immediately to paint them. Here is a first result:

The first of my 3 "Warwitches" planned for "Guided Lands" Originally this Mini is from the "Cryx" Range of Warmachine and comes with another 2 of them + an flying "Powerstone" (or something simillar). This Unit will bring the magic Power into my Battleforce! ^^
Sorry for the quite bad quality of the Picture. The next pictures will be better!

M3 Halftrack (britisch service)

Today i build the first of my 4 new M3 Halftracks for my british Forces.
I´ve just added some Resinparts,Plasticsheet and some Figures from SHQ to refine the Modell.
Now i have to refine the other 3 Halftracks in different ways to let them look similar but unique.

A more detailled report of the build you can find under:
http://www.monomentalmodells.de/behindomaha/viewtopic.php?f=106&t=2016

(my english is not good enough to explain the single steps i think. So there is only a description in German at our Forum. )

There are still Miniatures missing like Drivers for the Halftracks and the Support Units with Mortars and Vickers MGs. They will arrive with my next Delivery, including 4 Sherman Tanks, 1 White Scout Car and various Scoutcars like Humber, Daimler, Staghound etc. I hope that the Decals i have ordered will arrive soon so that i´m able to finish my Companys till end of December. There is a lot of Work to do, so stay tuned.....

Dark Eldar Raider ,a Humber and a first offer....

Yesterday i finished the first of two Dark Eldar Raiders. I´ve painted the Raider not in my usual high standard, just for gaming purposes.
I used Vallejos "Black" as Basecolour and "Jade Green" for the edges. I used this sheme for the crew too, i added only a few highlights of "Scorpion Green" on the sharpest edges and afterwards the miniatures were washed with either "Asurmen Blue" and "Badab Black"

Soon i will start to build the second Raider but first i want to finish the actual work on my bench:
A Humber Scout Car that i´ve repainted today. Formerly it was painted in a much too bright Green so i had to paint it new with "Russian Uniform" followed by a wash with "Devlan Mud". I refined the Model with Resinparts and some brasswire and as you can see i tested some Pigments at the bottom and on the Tires. I think, tomorrow it will be finished.....

Last but not least, i´ve placed my first Sale Item on the "Sale" Page of my Blog. (You will see this by using the Nav-bar in the upper right corner of my Blog)

Last but not least habe ich mein erstes Verkaufsangebot auf der "Sale" Seite meines Blogs eingestellt.

Cromwell Tank Platoon (still W.I.P.)

Today i nearly finished my Cromwell Tank Platoon for "Behind Omaha" (I can use it for "Rapid Fire" as well)
I still wait for my custom Decalsheets to give the Tanks the "Irish Guard"-Look.
The most Tanks used for Operation "Garden" were Shermans but there were Cromwell Platoons too. And because i love the look of the Cromwell Tank i decided to build a Cromwell Platoon first. (a Sherman Tank Platoon with Firefly support is one of my next projects...) All Modells are from Armourfast/Hat and they all were customized with Green Stuff and Resinparts.

As you can see, there´s still work to do.... I have to "upgrade" the Tracks of the Firefly, some hatches and commanders are still missing and there still a few paintings to apply.

Creating a custom Space marine Chapter.... (Part 1)

My best Friend (and Gaming Archenemy) supposed to build up a new army for Warhammer 40K. Soon he decided to start with Space Marines. But he don´t like the schemes of the existing Chapters so he was going to create an own Chapter. So he asked me for ideas. After a evening full of painting and testing there was a first Result. Now this will be the base for his new 1500 Points Space Marine Battleforce....

Another Germans....

Here is a Picture of the first 2 German in Winterdress i painted for my own Troops. Like the ones from the Post before, they are painted the same way. Now i have to paint another 46 of them.....

Another commissions.....

Here is a picture of some Germans in winterdress from Cäsar Miniatures. I painted them a while ago for a friend. I think i will paint some of these Minis for my own troops. The Release of "Behind Omaha - Kampfraum Ost", (the official Add On for Eastern Front battles for Behind Omaha) is not far away, so i need German winterforces! ^^
Painting the white winterdresses was quite easy. I gave them a basecoat of GW´s "Astronomican Grey" and after that i applied several layers of pure white on them. The dirt on the Trousers was easy to paint too. Just drybrushed the lower legs with Vallejos "US Field Drab" to become them looking dirty.
Hope you like them...

Dark Eldar arrived!!!!

Yes!!! Today i received the new Dark Eldar i´ve preordered!
Almost 7 Years all the dark Eldar Players had to wait to get a new Codex and new miniatures. Now they are there!
Finaly they look like what they are: the "evil" version of the Eldar.

Can´t wait to unpack these little Devils but i have to wait until tomorrow! Why? The Box is my Birthday Gift from me to myself! ^^ (And my birthday is tomorrow....)
Jawoll!
Wieso? Sie sind mein Geburtstagsgeschenk an mich selbst! Und Geburtstag hab ich nunmal erst morgen! ^^

First Testpaintings for Delta

Today i´ve tested a few colourshemes for my Cäsar Deltas. The Details on these Miniatures are great, but painting these little bastards by using the "Choc Flake"-Camo sheme is horrible! (even only painted in "Table Standard!!!!)
Note that the result above is only a test at this time. It don´t represent the "final" sheme i will use for the Guys,
because the Light Green patterns on the clothing did not came out enough and because the Black/white "Flakes" are to rough and too big.

It was quite easyer to paint one of the Deltas opposites, a Figure of an modern urban resister.

He is painted in Table Standard too and because of the big white parts he was fast and easy to paint.

started a new Paintjob today....

Today i started a new Paintjob for a Friend. He is the owner of a Webshop for 1/72 scale Miniatures and he asked me,if i could paint actual and new Releases for him, so that he can show painted examples in his shop.
The first Miniatures i received from him are the actual US GI´s in winter clothing from Italerie.

I finished the first test miniature a few minutes ago. Now i can start with the other ones.....

Some commission.....

Here is a picture of one of my latest commission paintjobs. A few of 40 british paras i painted for a friend. These Figures are from Italerie and Revell and they were not too hard to paint. Only a few faces were badly moulded and there was some flash to remove.

Kiss me i`m Irish (Guard) Part 5

Today i have only a WIP picture of the first of 8 Universal carriers, i´m working at. (Yes, 8 carriers! they are needed to represent a full platoon of british infantry for "Behind Omaha"- 3 squads of Riflemen, each squad will have 2 carriers and 2 support squads with 2 carriers each. These support carriers will have a Polsten or vickers Gun mounted on them)
It´s a Airfix model with a few Resin and white metal parts as stowage. The Figures are from SHQ.
The string at the end of the carrier will represent ropes for the stowage, applied to the rear side.

Kiss me i`m Irish (Guard) Part 4

The first Cromwell for my british Tank Company (4 Cromwell, 1 Firefly) is nearly finished. There are only a few little Paintings to be done and i have to apply the Decals i ordered at "Peddinghaus Decals". I hope they will arrive soon, so that i can finish the first of my new "Babys".This Model is from Armourfast/Hät and it did´nt took me long time to build. After the assembly i´ve added some Resinparts like Rolls, Bags.  And the Camouflage on the Turret  is made of Greenstuff. Hope, you like it....

so far,

Wiking

so far,
Euer Wiking

Mein Blog.... nun hier auf Blogger.com

Sodele...

Ein wenig Geduld also bitte....

so far, euer Wiking

Kiss me i`m Irish (Guard) Part 3

Farben: Vallejo Model Color

so stay tuned....

Kiss me i´m Irish (Guard) Part 2

An dieser Stelle mal ein wenig "nice to know"-Wissen über meine geplante Armee für "Behind Omaha", bestehend aus Teilen der Irish Guards.

 Irish Guards

Nord-West Europa: Pothus, Norway 1940, Boulogne 1940, Cagny, Mont Pincon, Neerpelt, Nijmegen, Aam, Rhineland, Hochwald, Rhine, Bentheim, North-West Europe 1940 1944–45

Nord Afrika: Medjez Plain, Djebel bou Aoukaz, North Africa 1943

Italien: Anzio, Aprilia, Carroceto, Italy 1943–44
